Workshops every Saturday Starting 8 May until 24 July at 2-5pm
South Essex College (formerly Thurrock and Basildon College) Woodview Campus Grays RM16 2YR
A new series of community workshops focusing on singing, acting, music-making, prop-making, costumes, backstage skills and front of house management will start on Saturday 8 May at South Essex College
(formerly Thurrock and Basildon College), Woodview Campus in Grays. Run by Royal Opera House artists and professionals, these workshops are part of the preparation for the High House People's Opera, a community project to celebrate the opening of the Royal Opera House Bob and Tamar Production Workshop in Purfleet in December.
We now need even more people to get involved. No special skills are needed just an interest in the project, a willingness to learn and enthusiasm to get involved! Come and help us to put Purfleet on the world stage!
Special composition workshops will run in May to generate musical ideas for the opera. The workshops for vocalists will take place on 8 and 15 May and for instrumentalists on 22 and 29 May, from 2-5pm. All these workshops will be at South Essex College Woodview Campus.
For participants selected from all three previous workshops interested to become part of the 'High House People's Opera' Dance Company.
So if you're interested in getting involved in any way, behind the scenes, centre stage or front of house, please contact 01375 413391 or email getinvolved@roh.org.uk
